Get-together at Restoran Ali Cafe, Jalan Pantai Baru, Kuala Lumpur

On 16 September 2015, Hari Malaysia, we decided to meet our friend, Rashihan. Since she came all the way to Kuala Lumpur for her eye treatment, so we think, why not to have a short meeting at one of our favourite restaurant near Jalan Pantai Baru, Restoran Ali Cafe. One of our favourite order was the rojak buah. But the portion was smaller than before I think. Hmm...cut cost maybe!

Kuih Koci

After came back from my son's taekwondo class, I stopped at one stall to buy kuih koci.

Koci (also known as passover cake in English) is a Malaysian dumpling kuih made from ground unpolished glutinous rice.

For those who would like to try and make the kuih, can watch the video. Happy cooking!

Ketam Masak Lemak

2 days ago I cooked Masak Lemak Ketam for dinner. Crab is actually my favourite seafood. One of the dishes I will cook with crab is Masak Lemak. Easy to cook. Just smash the bird eye chillies with shallots and put it into the coconut milk. Then add dried garcinia to the ingredient. Do not forget the turmeric and some sugar and of course the crab itself. You can add few slice of pineapple if you want.

Metropolitan Recreation Park Kepong aka Taman Layang-layang

Malaysian Petroleum Club

Malaysian Petroleum Club..well my last trip here was in 2013. As usual, we brought the delegates to experience this place, for the food and the ambience.

Malaysian Petroleum Club is situated at 42nd Floor of Petronas Twin Towers. They have few restaurants up here such as Seligi, Dulang and Temana. This time we ate at Seligi restaurant which we ordered Chinese food, pertable was about RM1600 for max 10 pax. The dress code is Formal here, shirt with tie or national dress for men. Before we started the dinner, we allowed the delegates to experience the bridge that connected the two towers.

Fried beehoon

Hungry in the afternoon, so I cooked fried bee hoon. Every time I cook bee hoon, I just throw the ingredient, no specific measurement. I just cooked blend chilly with hot oil first then add some oyster sauce, black soy sauce, and add some sugar and salt. Then I add in seafood. But the best one if you put meat. I think the sauce taste better if you put meat. Sweeter to the bee hoon. For vegetables either I use chinese mustard or bean sprouts. For accessories, you can sprinkle omelette and cut chillies.

Saloma Bistro and Theater

We had a dinner tonite at Saloma Bistro and Theater after a long day workshop at the office today. Since most of the workshop participants are foreigners, Saloma is the good place to bring foreigners to see our traditional dances.
